Summer is officially over along with summer travel, what a beautiful summer it was! I know it’s been crickets here on the blog this summer. Forgive me, but I truly wanted to attempt to be present with family this summer. Our daughters are fourteen and eleven we only have three seasons left before our McKenzie leaves for college.
For you moms that work and stay at home, man is that work, know what I’m talking about we find ourselves torn between all the opportunities that call our name and the ones we know by name. Granted, I did work this summer on a few great design projects that I can’t wait to show y’all!
If you’re like me, type A and want to do it all and do it ALL to perfection we have to learn that for everything we pick up to do we must put something down. Beloved, God wants us to have it all, but for every season we must know our purpose and focus there.
Our summer began with Addison our 11-year-old heading to Camp Woodward a camp focusing on action sports, gymnastics, and cheer programs.
New England Summer
As Addison cheered her heart out at cheer camp, McKenzie and I headed to a little beach cottage on Point Judith in Rhode Island.
After living in Massachusetts for two years, we love our days in Boston exploring the city and all her architectural beauty.
Talk about beauty in Newport, RI we enjoyed touring the Mansions of the Gilded Age.
McKenzie loves architecture my hope is she goes to school to be an Architect, but as of right now she wants to go into the FBI. Yes, I’m pulling for drawing and 3D models instead of danger!
Arizona It’s A Dry Heat
From Rhode Island, we headed to Phoenix Arizona, yes we lived here too, for two years.
Trips back to Arizona are a yearly summer tradition. McKenzie attends United Christian Youth Camp here annually with the same group of girls since 4th grade.
From Arizona, we came home washed the laundry and repacked for Memphis, TN and Louisiana my home state.
Summer Travel with Southern Living
Visiting with family and friends was the best this summer that can only happen when we make time for the things that matter, relationship.
Now, time for some fall fun, two new bathroom projects, and a fabulous new kitchen design! Oh, and all the design fun happening at my own home this last week! Excited to share all this crazy beauty with you!
Hope you’re inspired to fly! Create beauty around you with love; it’s the only thing that can go with you anywhere. If you have enjoyed my musings please like and share!
